The West Tisbury author and historian Tony Horwitz died suddenly in Washington, D.C., on Monday, his wife Geraldine Brooks confirmed. Mr. Horwitz was 60 and had been on tour for his new book, Spying on the South: An Odyssey Across the American Divide.
