President-Elect Trump visited the White House Wednesday to meet with President Biden in a two-hour meeting discussing the transition of power and policy issues. Throughout the day the President-Elect shared more cabinet picks including Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz for Attorney General, former Hawaii Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard for Director of National Intelligence, and Florida Senator Marco Rubio for Secretary of State. On Capitol Hill, with a newly minted Senate majority, Republicans selected South Dakota Senator John Thune as the new Majority Leader. FOX News Contributor and former White House Press Secretary for George W. Bush, Ari Fleischer, joins the Rundown to discuss the latest cabinet selections, what signal they send to the status quo in Washington D.C., and what the Senate will look like with Majority Leader Thune in charge. On Tuesday evening, President-elect Donald Trump appointed tech billionaire Elon Musk and former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy to head a new initiative called the Department of Government Efficiency, or “DOGE.” The goal of this department is to reduce government waste and regulation. Mitch Daniels, co-chair of the Committee For a Responsible Federal Budget, will discuss areas where the government is misallocating funds, the national debt, and what this department might entail. Harry sits down with Rick Wilson, co-founder of the Lincoln Project and a former Republican political strategist who did as much as anyone to warn the country of the dangers of a Trump presidency, including creating and distributing a dazzling series of ads that brought home Trump’s essential know-nothingness, hypocrisy, and wickedness. The two begin with a discussion of whether in retrospect the election was winnable for Harris-Walz, or whether the forces that propelled Trump’s victory were in retrospect insuperable. Wilson analyzes the result in terms of the media ecosystem that the extreme right has constructed and made common cause with since 2008 and especially since Covid. Penetrating that ecosystem is the chief task going forward, but it is way easier said than done. Trump’s likely stumbles as President will provide some headway and perhaps provide openings for the Democrats to take back one of the Houses of Congress in 2026. But the immediate and pressing issue is whether Trump will use his virtually unchecked power to move the country towards autocracy along the model of say, Turkey, in a way that history demonstrates is very hard to reverse. That leaves little choice of patriots, who might well have been looking forward to a resumption of normal life and normal politics, than to continue to fight day to day and month to month against the coming waves of abuses of governmental power.

M.N.: The FBI issues of dysfunction and problems with legality are not random or sporadic, they appear to be systemic, structural, and deeply rooted. The whole organization and some workers appear to be just as cynical, psychopathic, conniving, and rotten as the very field they are dealing with.

The FBI and the Mob appear to have many common elements in their collective mentality, and it is logical: The primary function of the both groups is to protect and to benefit their respective members. In essence as Norman Mailer observed so aptly, the FBI is a Church which exists to satisfy and to tender to the needs of its members (“the true mediocre”), first of all and most of all.

I think, it was the truth then, and it still is the same truth now.
In 1963, Mailer wrote — as paraphrased in an FBI memo — that the bureau had done more damage to America than the Communist Party. That same year, a magazine quoted Mailer as calling Hoover “the worst celebrity in America.”Nov 15, 2008

All I see now in these #FBI comments are the political attacks on Chris Wray in order to unseat him. Be careful and aware of what you are asking for: the FBI dysfunctions can become worse with the new leader, male-female issue is irrelevant here. I recommend to create THE FBI ADVISARY BOARD, of the best minds in Academia and related fields, and to proceed with the reforms; gradually, cautiously, and prudently, under Mr. Wray, who appears to be committed to these reforms. 14w
