The white rabbit has meant many things to different people throughout the years. Some are proud owners of white rabbits. And the species of the white rabbit is quite popular in literature as well, such as in the 1865 book: “Alice in wonderland.”

There are quite a few different types of white rabbits, from the White Vienna rabbit to the Florida white rabbit. For others, the meaning of the white rabbit resonates differently. For example, few can forget the wonderful song by “Jefferson Airplane” of this name. This iconic song is still heard everywhere.

The white rabbit is also a metaphor for following one’s curiosity in the popular film “The Matrix.” And sometimes, the symbolism of the white rabbit is used by a disturbed and extremist cult called QAnon that encourages people to “follow the white rabbit.”

I do not know, friends and readers, what was in Twitter CEO Elon Musk’s head when he tweeted out a message the other day telling people to follow the white rabbit. What I do know is all hell broke loose — and for good reason. Times are not what they used to be. This seemingly innocent message of following the white rabbit isn’t always so innocent any more. It’s sad, but it’s where we are.

Many do not know about the imagery of the white rabbit in Q. It is possible many of you had no idea.

Did Elon know? And was he saying his Twitter followers should follow the white rabbit of QAnon? This is what many people are saying. I can see why they are saying it. Elon Musk is plugged into popular culture, and I’d be surprised if he did not know about the imagery of the white rabbit.

And yet some argue earnestly that he was quoting The Matrix. If Musk had not made himself the literal Twitter king of right-wing propaganda, perhaps I’d be more inclined to believe that.

No, nobody can say for sure what Musk meant. Perhaps we’ll never really know. But we certainly have our suspicions. So — please be on alert because the white rabbit in this case is a giant, screaming, red flag.
