It was Monday evening. The moon hovered, shining down as it tends to do. Stars winked and cast a shining glow as streets full of people wound down from a long day. And some of these millions of people were processing what they had seen on Monday afternoon when the January 6 committee made their referrals to the Justice Department.

And one person was barking at the moon. “I won!” Now who could that be, I wonder. Donald Trump, glowing with rage, took to truth social to tell the world (well — in this case, the piddling number of people who were actually listening, that he was an innocent man.)

Trump then proceeded to nauseate many by quoting Nietzsche, which is sort of like Samuel Alito quoting Gloria Steinem. Trump said that what doesn’t kill him makes him stronger. Trump also repeated his claims of double jeopardy, showing the world that though what doesn’t kill him might make him stronger in his mind, it does not seem to provide him with any degree of intelligence.

He also accused people of being out to get him. Well, we knew something like this was coming, right? How could it not? There was no way Trump was going to let the January 6 committee have the last word. So once again, Trump set out to tell his truth — and once again, nobody listened, mainly because Trump doesn’t know the meaning of the word truth.
