He’s starring in Fibber on the Roof. He’s getting a dollar from the Lubavitcher rebbe as a young boy. And George Santos, the congressman-elect from Long Island who’s been outed for his false claims of Jewish heritage, is also getting called out in Adam Sandler’s “Chanukah Song.” The original lyrics included “O.J. Simpson, not a Jew,” but a meme on Twitter has Sandler singing, “George Santos, not a Jew.”

Twitter users have also posted a whole series of photos of famous events suggesting Santos was there, including the flag-planting at Iwo Jima and the lone protester standing in front of tanks at Tiananmen Square.

The ties to some other memes aren’t explicitly Jewish but are more, as Santos himself might say, “Jew-ish.” One person noted his saga bears an uncanny resemblance to a film from one of Judaism’s most beloved filmmakers: Steven Spielberg.

Others took their inspiration from Simpsons yes-man Waylon Smithers, who infamously fudged the truth by telling his boss an audience was “Boo-urns”ing the devilishly evil billionaire’s biopic, which, like Santos, was largely made of embiggened facts.

To paraphrase another beloved Simpsons character, the Jackie Mason-voiced Rabbi Krustofsky, nobody ever told Santos that a Jew may compose, create thoughts or tell stories that never happened but they never lie.
