New extensions and shapes can effectively create a new tower and use the space more efficently. It can’t be demolished easily because it would have to be taken apart bit by bit so it didnt smash through the station or whatever… Not many city centre towers do get demolished in Leeds- infact do any? It’s easier and cheaper to reclad.
