For a UK resident, is there UK tax on French assurance-vie contracts if no withdrawal (“rachat”) occurs during the UK tax year? French residents do not pay tax until withdrawals, I would hope it is the same for UK residents. I guess this depends on whether French assurance-vie are considered to Personal Portfolio Bonds instead of life insurance?
